You save a nail photo because of the glow. Then the booking menu asks you to choose Cat Eye or chrome. They can both catch the light beautifully, but they create different kinds of shine. Knowing which detail you love saves a lot of guesswork at the appointment.
Watch the light, not just the color
A still photograph can make two very different finishes look similar. Cat Eye uses magnetic pigment to create its light effect. Tilt the nail and the brighter area appears to change, giving the color depth.
Chrome creates a reflective surface effect. A pearl chrome manicure can look almost quiet in one light and noticeably luminous in another. The base shade matters, so a white, pink or nude underneath can change the overall impression.
If possible, save a short video alongside your reference photo. A few seconds of movement can communicate more than five nearly identical screenshots.
Choose Cat Eye when you want depth
Cat Eye is a useful direction when you want one main color to do more of the visual work. The design can feel rich without adding a separate drawing to every nail.
At Ruta Beauty, Red Cat Eye Hard Gel Manicure is the red magnetic option. Frosty Cherry takes a different direction: icy blue Cat Eye with deep cherry undertones. A screenshot of a green or pink Cat Eye is a reference request, so check the available shades before choosing an appointment.
Choose pearl chrome when you want a soft sheen
A Pearl Chrome Manicure suits a look built around a gentle glow. It can complement a simple outfit, delicate jewelry or a design where a fully metallic finish would feel too strong.
Look closely at your reference: do you like the pearl effect itself, or the milky base beneath it? Mention both. “A sheer pink base with a soft pearl sheen” gives your technician a much clearer starting point than “something shiny.”
Keep the rest of the design in proportion
On a short nail, a single luminous finish can feel complete. On a longer nail, the same finish has more surface area to make an impression. Neither length needs a complicated extra detail to justify it.
You can also choose a glossy solid color or a pattern instead. Burgundy offers a smooth, rich color; Leopard Luxe puts the emphasis on leopard print. Those are distinct looks, so do not use “Cat Eye” as a catch-all name for every special design.
Bring one reference and three decisions
- Finish: moving Cat Eye depth, pearl sheen or a stronger reflective effect?
- Color: which base shade do you want in ordinary daylight?
- Length: your current natural nails, or added length?
Show the detail you want to keep, then explain what you would change. A photo can be adapted to your length and shape; it does not have to become a promise of an identical result.
Compare the current design menu before booking. If your reference combines finishes or artwork, send it to Ruta Beauty so the right service and appointment time can be confirmed.
